Perhaps if at all possible when clicking on a city/resource you could have new options. 1. Invest income to increase the income a city/resource or region produces, an alternative to having to war to increase income. 2. Invest income to increase the production output of a city (the number of units it can produce). 3. Invest income to increase the technological output of a city, making more advanced units available (R&D). I think that all of these investments should be made in predetermined amounts- like buying a unit and the number of units. It could also be made so that if yr allies are willing to share higher tech they could and also be simultaneously independent if they're not willing to share. It would require an adjustment to the alliances. In highest tech nations (USA for example) it could unlock even more advanced units independent of alliance(s). Like in the game Axis and Allies it could be made to be a risky thing where a player might get an advancement in tech or it doesn't amount to an advancement. Pure "luck of a random discovery". A category for the research and development investment could be made- Space, Air, Land, Sea or Industrial (like a nuke generator to increase output for example) #'s 1 and 3 could be made variable by making what happens dependent upon a random number generator to control its effectiveness and if so, the result. Just thought some of these ideas would make gameplay more enjoyable for all. Particularly it makes smaller nations potentially more powerful, they could unlock units, increase income and production through technological discovery and investment that may be a threat to bigger more powerful nations. If someone is able to code that, I think it would make Atwar much more interesting and complex for some maps, especially for RP games. Just some ideas to take into consideration and that maybe need tweaking, what do you guys think? Cheers.
