You can laugh at this guy but the truth is that on the whole Christian missionaries demonstrated balls of steel when they risked their lives to spread the faith. Far more bravery than it takes to be a keyboard warrior from the safety of the civilization you take for granted, and more than any of us have ever had. Either way this particular guy seemed to just be looking for adventure/taking needless risks in which case he may have had it coming.

You're speaking out of your arse (as usual). Even the missionaries that followed conquistadors were leaving relative safety and comfort in Europe for unknown continents and serious dangers. Many many died by attempting to join native communities long before Europeans had political control there. These guys were total badasses. If you'd read even a little about the Jesuit reductions in South America, the evangelization of the Vikings, or the martyrs of Japan you wouldn't spout such ignorance.
