Some clarifications about the new rule though: 1. Can theses updates be more visible? I barely noticed it and I'm sure other players didn't even knew about this... 2. It is entirely possible that a player's identity is mistaken due to an IP flaw. How do you truly know that other player is ghosting? 3. What if my opponent allows me to ghost? Would it be allowed? Discuss.

The thing is we can't determine whether the player has been ghosting at that exact moment. We will determine whether it was a case of ghosting if the opposite member of the cw/duel report with any proof (ss of a chat or anything similar) reports the case to us. We will look at the IP logs later and determine whether it was truly ghosting. Of course we wont go from a cw to cw to check IP's and such, so technically if the opponent allows ghosting and doesnt report you, you could get away with it.

Yes this is a new rule, the mod team recently discussed the issue of ghosting and we decided to implement this rule. Many of you have encountered situations in duels or cws where you were not playing the person you thought you were and were mislead. 1. I 100% agree, it is only fair for the whole community to be aware of new rules so they can abide by them. We intended to make a news post announcement on this but you beat us to it 2. Yes the IP system is not 100% accurate, there are mistakes that can sometimes be made. The way we can know if a ghosting event has taken place is if a player reports an incident (for example a CW or duel that was suspicious, the time, player, etc.). Together this information can help us come to the decision of whether the ghosting event actually occurred. Since this is a serious offense and the punishment is equally serious it would likely be discussed by multiple mods before a decision has been reached so we do not prematurely remove elo or games. Using the IP system and the players history of logins/IPs, it can help us determine whether a ghosting event truly occurred. 3. I do not see a reason for anyone to be using another players account in any game as it already violates rule 4.2. Thus I would warn anyone against using another players account in a duel or CW as you already have your own account and do not need to do so. I hope this clears things up.

Since casual CWs are harder to start, would it be acceptable to allow another member of our coalition to use our account ONLY TO START THE CW on turn 0? Use of our account PAST turn 0 can be easily investigated, by checking that the other member's IP address was used only on turn 0...

The next situation.
... because the ghosting rule only applies to CWs and Duels, a player could technically allow another player to use his account in a scenario or whole world game as the original owner goes and play the CW. Unless you guys are able to guess who is in what game, this type of situations will render the IP method to be useless. This way is used by scenario players because leaving the game could get you banlisted, as well as ruin it for the rest of the players.
1. What if I'm playing MK and they agree to let us ghost, but then opi or someone not related goes and report us. 2. Or if I'm playing acq-skend and they two agree to let us ghost, but then Laochra goes and report us. 3. Ultimately what if we're playing SP police and they agree to let us ghost, nobody report us but then Lemonade by causality enters the game and realizes that we swapped account. Would it be fair if he ban us?

Please don't share your account. -Ditto- Even if both clans agree that it is okay to break the rules, save the moderators some confusion and don't break them. If it appears to a mod that you are Ghosting because someone else is using your account at the same time as you are in a CW, you are liable for anything that happens. We simply recommend never sharing your account to avoid this situation entirely.

Ghosting should be ok if all parties are made aware of it. Also, there are accounts in big clans that are made for the purpose of 2v2 cws (Aristote, Skendytwin) #FreeOpi

Ok, I see what you mean there and yes it is possible for people to circumvent the system in some situations. The purpose of this rule was primarily for games like Duels and CWs that count for something more than SP, meaning personal and clan elo which in turn decides who wins trophies. In the past people have wrongly been awarded trophies even though they did not deserve them, so by having this rule we hope to eliminate those rarities. I understand the reason why players would do it in games like scenarios which would result in bans from the map, but they should not have been playing the game if they did not have time (I know this sounds a bit harsh). Overall this is why we chose to only monitor games that involve elo, because monitoring every single ghosting event would be impossible.

Fyi the IP system is only inaccurate one both parties use the a same proxy/VPN service which often limits to a few amount of IPs since it's free. The IPs are logged and it can easily be checked if it's a proxy or not by tracing it.

It's actually really easy to find a proxy service that changes your ip everytime you log on. You can even set it up to only change your ip when logging onto specific sites.

Well I am taking the players perspective here. The fact is that ghosting isnt allowed anymore, and thats basically the end of discussion. Yes if someone else reports you, you can get punished, again if I or Trollface casually enter and notice an account swap, we will stop the cw and act accordingly. It doesnt mean that it will always results in bans, there are other punishments far more worse for the clan than that.

Rule 4.4 "Any players caught Ghosting may have their ELO (personal, or coalition) reset" Does this mean that when a player got caught ghosting mods will reset the coalition whole season elo? Or just that 1 cw they ghosted? And idk why would you reset personal Elo because of cw? It doesnt make any sense..i have a suggestion..why dont you mods learn how to do your job correctly? Heres an example on how you guys react A thief stole a garbage can and you charge him for rape+stealing Idk who taught you guys but i got banned once by a shitty mod for a thing i did on skype What did he do? He banned me for 15 days and demote me from malay admin translator..wtf does that got to do with translation? Idc about translation but the way these guys do stuff is so cringe..like me or hate me i speak the truth

That's a hard thing to decide. Taking the situation of someone saying "Hey I gtg", even if both parts are agree, how can we be sure he really needs to go? How can we be sure they won't make a trick to take advantage in it? I know that sometimes is true and necessary, but we have met a lot of crooked players and we are conscious it could happen. So, to avoid all those things, it's better not to allow ghosting. Neither very fair, nor unfair.

Nah I'm afraid not. The only way you can change it is if you contact your ISP (or run your own broadband from your own mast) or use a VPN to HIDE your ip. You can't change your IP with a proxy/vpn

But even if someone was to use a VPN, all the mods have to do is put it into a IP geo-tracker and if it comes up with a USA IP right in the heart of Washington, or a Spanish IP right in the middle of the city of Madrid, you can be certain its a VPN ip as they nearly always trace to city-centres and could then question the user which had to suspicious ip logged in.

Ghosting is a problem if rules says otherwise obviously, but i'm more concerned with some players who play(read:stick to) only 10% of the game, barely speak lingua franca and use(d) bugs in cw getting position to mod the game, not sure that will end well
