They're not a victim of socialism, they're a victim of corruption, anarchism and now valueless money.
I understand socialism allows more scope for autocracies, but you can't judge it based on a few poor states using it to give their dictators more control. That's not socialism.
Look up the nordic model.

One century after and people still can't understand Socialism just can't exist in the practice, because it requires a total removal of all selfishness and avarice in people to reach its objectives. Can you imagine millions of people without selfishness or avarice? It's impossible. There may exist wellness "socialism-like" models as nordics countries, but that's different. Venezuelan crisis is based on oil trading dependance and full avarice-corruption, everything hidden with the excuse of "Socialism" which doesn't exists further than in the books.

Totally not US fault this time. Total embargo has nothing to do with starving Venezuelans and US supporter opposition leader calling him president while he didn't even participated in presidential elections.

This totally is not US revenge for Venezuela taking back companies from USA in order to serve the people and not profit (US bought many Venezuelan companies for dollars, then making millions, but when Chavez was elected, he nationalized all those companies, because it was unjustly taken by the US companies).

Situation in Venezuela reminds me of Serbia in the 90's (though Serbia experienced it much worse): Croatians butchering Serbians from the west, Albanians butchering Serbians from the south and USA sanctioning Serbia to starve the surviving population (then invades to finish off Serbia for good, losing the war though)

How long before Colombia or Brazil invades Venezuela? Didn't US and Colombian troops position on the border and Trump saying Brazil should join NATO?

They can join if they want, NATO has nothing do with the "North Atlantic", it's only in the name because of stupid people. Italy and Denmark are two of many founder's of this "North Atlantic", Treaty Organization... Even Luxembourg too.

Who more than a Venezuelan to explain from within everything that happens.

It all comes down to this: corrugation, anarchy, the evil of the people. While it is clear that there is a high range of corruption in the government of my country, things will not change if people do not change their way of thinking.

This is a bloody communist dictatorship with a mask of socialism.

In this country we did not take advantage of the time of the fat cows and now we are suffering the consequences of a bad administration is this time of skinny cows.

How can it be dictatorship if Maduro (and the socialist party) was elected? No voting in dictatorship. Also don't you know there are no elections during time of crisis (war, emergency, natural disaster), which many leaders use as excuse to stay on power, true, but isn't this real crisis in Venezuela(US sanctions, hacking Ven. infrastructure) so delaying elections is ok?

If you have elections for the last 50 years straight, then comes crisis so you skip 1-2 elections, can be hardly considered dictatorship.

Not trying to defend Ven. regime or blame US again, just trying to get the full picture. US meddling was my first guess due to history i've read and new articles popping up recently.

As hell is going to be valid elections held by the illegitimate constituent national assembly (assembly that overcomes the constitution of our paus). How the hell is it going to be a transparent election when there is no confidence in the electoral system of this country?

I see the whole panorama but within the country .

Venezuela is another victim of USA* and NATO puppets

Same strategy used like in Iraq,Yugoslavia,Syria,Korea,Iran ..........long list
They even try to fuck with Mother Russia and China

They send cia agents for propaganda, provocations between the population.Acused legit government for dictatorship. Use sanctions=>Inflation .Start with "humanitarian missions".Support new opposition puppet "leaders" who never won elections and if that fail => military intervention. Bomb the shit out of them.In end they elect new puppet government. Build military bases.suck oil and other resources "Democracy" is established.

Just be sure to not end up like Serbia. Group of students there lied people and led demonstrations against the president (after US invasion), toppled him, then they got all the best positions in the country (ministers, company ceo's, mines, trade deals) while ignoring the people they led, thus making things worse than they were under the president they toppled.

Those students are now OTPOR/CANVAS, and they are training Juan Guaido.

Venezuela is a really confusing subject. On the one hand, this type of 'socialism' is preferable to Liberalism, long term, but there is no denying the corruption of Marxists in power. The US embargo and currency manipulation has an impact but it's just not a good enough of an excuse for how badly they dealt with the economy, especially their oil. Venezuela isn't democratic if ballot papers are falsified and opposition is either banned or violently attacked by state-backed thugs. Maduro's authoritarian socialism is better than American Liberalism, only for the fact that the innate centralisation of power by people like Maduro tends to lead to a homogenisation of society. It's funny how communists will support Maduro not realising that Venezuela will become more racially and culturally homogenised as a byproduct of a dictatorial authority defending its absolute power. The Soviet Union is a perfect example of this. Compare East and West Germany. Compare Poland to France. Liberalism is at the heart of mass immigration, multi-culturalism and 'tolerance'.

I'm curious to see where this Maduro government will lead towards, because it sure as fk wont be progressive society. I give it a decade before they ban homosexuality in order to increase their birth rates due to the major loss of population from mass exodus and starvation.
