Before the competition scene, there was a beast that everyone played -> world games.
It was a time, long before custom maps, back when premium wasn't so popular. It was a time where world game (no extra) was played. It was a time where large map reigned supreme. Where players kept fighting until the end (unless they were high ranks). It was a time where rank 8 was considered high, and 10 was rare. Phrases such as "flower-power" and "1st move" was prevalent. Where rank 6 was considered good, where we trusted rank 4 and 5 on our teams.

Many of you would have been destroyed, but that was why the game changed. Sleep well, Afterwind. You are missed.

We welcome in the new era of AtWar, an age of epic scenarios and tiny maps that players considered competitive.

I remember making my first clan with my noob friends (we were rank 5s and 6s) and Elite Comrades farming off us. I remember seeing lots of rank 8s and 9s and wanting to be a rank 8 so bad because I thought all the good players were either rank 8 or 9/10. Now you see high ranks everywhere, and when you check their profile it says the same thing: RP

I also remember when UN was the big thing back then and how I would be a UN and go rogue just to farm SP

2011. goblin discovers duels - there is no duel competitions
2012. goblin mainly plays duels - there were no duel competitions
2013. goblin plays and works hard to become the best duelist - there are no duel competitions
2014. goblin breaks records, reaches top elo 3 times, starts beating the master tophats himself - there... are... no fucking competitions (and they steal his hard earned slayer trophy)
2015. goblin starts to have this nihilistic feelings about duels and feels as if he wasted years on nothing and wants to quit, but nonetheless still kicks ass with hardcore 2min duels
