Recently, I played a Turkey vs. England duel (as Turkey). Despite having the balkans, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, and Italy by turn 4, I never managed to gain a significant advantage (except for reducing Berlin's population down to 65%...). Eventually, UK grabbed Italy and that was the end of that. He had UK, France, Spain, Ireland, Belalux, Scandinavia, and Russia NW. Any advice for either side? Thanks, Greenflame

Errrr, as Turkey did you run out of money or was the reinforcements not enough or what limited you? This senario is basically all about lategame, so wall spamming and grabbing as much spawn and income as you can. As Turkey you should be trying to deny UK as much spawn as possible while gathering a ton of troops, stuff like airdropping into 0ed cities can be really annoying and force them to go on the defensive. As UK you usually want to keep constant pressure on Italy (wfs and taking cities) while expanding up north to get that Russian spawn and pressure balkans, as well as getting full country bonuses when possible Its basically a battle of income vs reinforcements, no real advice I can give besides try to deny the enemy what benefits them most

I was having money problems early game (too many tanks), but I just spammed infantry later on. Another problem was that I was really only attacking Berlin and St. Petersburg and not doing airdrops. Thanks!

This is a possible turn 1 for you; NOTE: I'm assuming extra cities toggled on. Also I haven't played in some time, so I don't recall the exact city names, sorry. 1. Go Italy from Izimir — 13 inf & 2 tanks: Infs in Rome, tanks in Naples 2. Go Caucasus (go only Armenia or only Georgia, but you should aim to have full Caucasus including Azerbaijan by turn 9 since it's a great source of reinfs very near Ankara) 3. Go Greece 13 infs (using Ankara and the 3 reinf city southward s between Ankara & Izimir), Romania (can skip this turn), Bulgaria 7-8 infs (from that city just south of istanbul) 4. Go Ukraine from Istanbul with 2 tanks 13 infs so you can get into Baltic, Finland and RNW early and stop UK getting it. Also lets you AT to Russia Central, your main income maker. The 13 infs go in Kiev, the 2 tanks in Odessa. 5. If you have enough reinfs behind in Turkey and don't mind spending some extra cash, big wall Ankara, and definitely wall Istanbul and Izimir before next reinforcement turn. 6. After this you can either conserve money or go small balkans/Serbia to get to Austria/Germany faster (not recommended since you don't have the cheapness upgrades NOTES: Whether you do #5 and #6 or not, if you've done everything properly you should have at least above 500 cash with you (once you get the expendable infantry and cheaper transport upgrades, it'll rise to above 1000) Notice how I've made only 4 tanks. In Early game, tanks are for bettering rolls while infs do the grunt work, not your main attacking unit. Those are still infs. Also please don't do air drops until after you have Russia Central (the disadvantage of not having cheapness upgrades, so rank up fast ) And yes I know it's ironic that I'm the one saying that... Jew everything and anything you can. You can't deny him money very well, so deny him reinforcements instead. He can't deny you reinforcements (thanks to Turkey) very well, so he will deny you money. Take full country bonuses everywhere, kill his full country bonuses, take his cities, defend your small Balkans and Italy (you shouldn't let him get Italy, or anything in Balkans as much as possible. Neither should you let RC fall. Keep reinforcing them and let him suicide on them. Bury him in numbers). This is a slowroll game. If both of you play well, the victor will come down to the person with highest SP. Generally that is East, unless you've just been sitting there and not attacking back. Make walls everywhere to slow him down. Break all his walls. Wallfuck everything. Use your militia where possible, don't just leave them sitting there, costing you upkeep. Use them for tbs, breaking and making walls and the like.

Here's some pics: I've done it a bit differently than I said above but not by much; 6 tanks instead of 4 1 tank failed Patras, but eh that's hardly that important. Can capture with militia from Athens next turn. I also accidentally used General for Romania, but it can easily be done without so don't worry about it. Strategy: Imperialist Ta-da! EDIT: Your turn 2 Please note the amount of available reinforcements is wrong, I was messaging while the timer wound down, this photo is taken on turn 5 but the moves were made for turn 2 Notice the full Ukraine and near-full Italy. I also didn't use my general in Romania, else I could have taken Hungary with it. Next turn takes me into baltics and RNW, can start moving infs and tanks upwards to Moscow and east to Russia South, while taking Austria-Hungary, Czech, threatening Benelux and France. This is just a model, since you can't do as much as I have done without the proper upgrades: Faster Infantry Cheaper Infantry Cheaper Transport I hope you have Naval Transport Capacity. If not, get it now

Thanks a lot! How did you get the troops from Ankara to romania? I will try this expansion, my current one (without extra cities admittedly) focuses more on the balkans and takes Italy and Ukraine on t2 and t3 respectively.

Expansion: 1. Wall Ankara with 3 units. Move rest 5 starting infs along with 3 tanks to Antalya. In Antalya make a trans and 2 more tanks. Move out that transport towards Heraklion, and drop 1 tanks. Move the rest of the units into Athens. Use that 1 tank dropped to attack Heraklion. 2. Make 1 trans and 7 tanks in Izimir. Move the units out to near Thessaloniki and dock it as high as possible. a) Use 8 infs and 1 tank to attack Belgrade b) Use 1 tank to attack Bosnia c) Use 2 tanks to attack Albania d) Use 1 tank to attack Cluj e) Use 1 tank to attack Varna f) Use 1 tank to attack Thessaloniki Move that trans into Athens also 3. Wall Istanbul with 3 infs. Make 7 tanks. Of the remaining 5 infs move 3 into Sofia along with 3 tanks, and 2 infs into Bucharest with 4 tanks. 4. With the 5 reinfs remaining in Ankara, make 1 Air Transport and 4 tanks, and attack Budapest. Picture: The above is an excerpt from this thread by Zenith. I'm afraid you haven't surfed into the deeps of the forums as much as you could, right? Here, a recopilation that remains hidden in the deep dark of the strategy forum, maybe it could be useful: http://es.atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=17391 If you need more useful topics, just ask

Just in case you're wondering why is Rome such a big deal when playing Turkey, it's easy: money and fast expansion towards west, meaning more money to come XD It can also help slow down west's expansion from your opponent.
