The way we have the game settings now is choosing between fast games of 4-12 min turns, Or 12-48 hour turns. Can't there be a middleground for 1-12 hour turns? Just for the sake of some who enjoy a long drawn out game, as if they were fighting an actual war, opposed to a quick or extremely long game. EDIT: 1-12 hour turns are perfect.

Casual games are already fairly close to what you desire. When all players are online, 3 turns can often get completed in an afternoon. When you play 12 hour games, the players who aren't taking regular turns get removed from the game fairly quickly, and often the turn length is in the high end of the range you suggest (6-9 hours). I suppose a 6 hour option could be added to the casual list... do you think that would work?

There is a big problem with anything less than 12 hour turns. The main one being that most players cannot login every 6 hours to complete a turn. Say you go to sleep at midnight and the turn ends. That means you would have to wake up at 6 in the morning in order to complete the next turn. Not very realistic. I believe 12 hour turns are perfect because the turn could end sooner if need be.

... Or too realistic... early morning raids and rockets through the night to deprive your enemy of sleep have been tactics throughout the ages ... but i think you raise a good point.

Exactly my line of thought, if you ask me Casual is superior in terms of realism, You don't have only 4-7 minutes to make each move. Some games I do terrible in games like that, but when it's long, drawn out, as if your fighting a REAL war... Then you can see every angle, every exploit and every single move you can do to take down your enemy. It makes it alot more exciting.
