If the fact I've been here since 2010 holds any merit, heed this: This AtWar you've created has alienated a lot of people, and the community in my eyes has been reduced to childish banter so unfunny and pathetic that I'm actually wasting my time at 3 AM to bitch about it. Why do we have mods being okay with shit that Death1812 posts, when it's clearly spam? Why do we have 12-year olds trying to state their opinion, and mods taking it seriously? Why do we still only have two people working on the game? We all thought by 2014 that Afterwind would be a huge thing, and re-acquainting myself with players like Pinheiro, Tunder3, Tik-Tok, and Samnang have only proven otherwise. Discuss this topic, no going off-topic, poking at OP, or whining for nanny-mods.

Nobody has been thinking that it's 'Just a game' lately- they've gone into a spiral of overdramatic, psuedo-sarcastic banter that really...makes no sense at all. If everyone thought "It's just a game", we wouldn't have the problems that we do.

Mods are spawned out of this community of degenerates. Maybe it's a personality difference, than. When I see something as shitty as our community, I gather motivation to fix it, rather than sulk like a bitch.

The difference between you and me is that I name the things as they are, while trying my utmost to act as a good example to the community. I do not troll, I do not ally and hence never betray anyone, I will mostly be polite to everyone I play with, the forums being an exception. Never did I receive any whatsoever warning from the mods, neither did I ever have any reason to criticize them. I give away SP by leaving already won games because I do not need it anymore. I write a huge and detailled guide with everything I know in it which becomes the most successfull in the forums, leaving me exposed to to an endless stream of people writing me ingame for more info and tips, to which I always take my time to reply accordingly even in the most heated game. I get PNs which I reply equally detailled and long as my guide is. With all this I do my part. I do not brag with any of it, nor do I ask for or want any recognition and I am embarassed to write this- but here I am, replying to a 16 y/o kid that just came back from a months-long sulking trip into obscurity, calling me a sulking bitch in return. You are an idiot Gard, just as much as I am probably one for writing this. The only difference between you and me is that I'm a real person when I get on here, you are just one out of many people who adopt fake internet-personalities.

The difference between you and me is that I name the things as they are, while trying my utmost to act as a good example to the community. I do not troll, I do not ally and hence never betray anyone, I will mostly be polite to everyone I play with, the forums being an exception. Never did I receive any whatsoever warning from the mods, neither did I ever have any reason to criticize them. I give away SP by leaving already won games because I do not need it anymore. I write a huge and detailled guide with everything I know in it which becomes the most successfull in the forums, leaving me exposed to to an endless stream of people writing me ingame for more info and tips, to which I always take my time to reply accordingly even in the most heated game. I get PNs which I reply equally detailled and long as my guide is. With all this I do my part. I do not brag with any of it, nor do I ask for or want any recognition and I am embarassed to write this- but here I am, replying to a 16 y/o kid that just came back from a months-long sulking trip into obscurity, calling me a sulking bitch in return. when you go to play other games, you'll come to realise that all games have their share trolls idiots and angsty teens/pre-teens. interestingly of the 5 names you mentioned 3 of them contribute heavily to the problem, although 2 of them offset this through their mapmaking contributions.

but the only reason the atwar community seems worse is because its so small, and as a result the idiots that the internet can produce are in your fface more often

AtWar has alienated a lot of people precisely because there are only two people working on the game. That's just the physical boundary of the development. AtWar does not generate profit when premium fare are used to cover costs on servers. Bearing in mind, I got my premium 2x cheaper 2 years ago than today, Html5 core will allow a greater exposure for new players in continuation of abfahren's modest SEO work. As far as I know, AW isn't advertised offically bar the youtube video and our player signature tags in forums.

The major loophole is User Progression, as numerous people have analysed before me. Players above rank 7,8 are by and large stale in terms of prem coverage and subsequently value. So what do they do to channel their beliefs?

Hate and trolling are bad emotions, but not as bad as apathy.

PS: Shuki and I tried to develop a Chinese playerbase in August with Baidu Tieba and the outcome was that a lack of depth deterred players to stay on. Bearing in mind we live in an age of expansion packs, it only makes sense to enlarge the upgrade cluster on the World Map at least.

I think the dev shot themselves into the foot over one thing: They didn't expect people to grind to 1 million SP plus, and that in relative terms is OMNIPOTENCE to any future development regarding game depth. Hey, they could just scale down SP to annoy the top dogs but reputation seem to run games as review sites and marketing with social media tells you. Another thing that they can do is literally group custom maps together into official categories, give them proper unit sets standardised across the maps and allow upgrades on those units at cheaper rates than those of default map.

I have complained before about stature of contributing players and community problems as well as rank adjustments. Been there, done that.

I might share you opinion if it came only down to this forum (even though it's filled with retards too), but playing games I mostly seem to encounter 12 y/o kids who are after SP like zombies after brains. They play AW like the Italian national team plays soccer, just in the utmost vile way.
Good for you though that you have a diffrent opinion on it and I don't even mean to convince you otherwise, this is just how I experience the game.
Also, from the second part of the post you quoted you should see that I don't really regard the mods as shitty. Gruß zurück!

How about Vril? He deletes every topic or forum about him. Every little bit critism he deletes. If you tell him he did something wrong, he tells you to not act like a smart ass. Because VRIL is mates with Caulerp or whatever the story is, he is abusing his modpowers and he knows, he wont get punished for it. That's just sad and disrespectfull. You guys make us problem/trouble players because we have some critic against (mods/people) doing a wrong job. Not like im attacking on vril right now. These two are very good points. I used to think age doesn't matter, but we need to remind ourselves of the reason why so many players here are idiots: they're 12 year old kids. I'm not sure if the thing he's done is actually true but the rest of his post is something that I absolutely agree with. I've noticed now as I frequently start playing with high ranks that they tend to do a lot of mocking and insulting. One username that comes to mind is Hdraakon, all he does is log in and insult players. I asked some players in my clan who he was and they told me he's an old player who hacked the game and got banned for it, he came back and got all mad so all he does is insults other players who only want to play peacefully. I want to see more players like this guy (learster), Madara, The Tactician, Lord Pontez and Chess who don't insult players (I've never seen them do it) and are decent people to talk to. They help me and help other players too. Those are the players I want to see in the game, I don't want to see players insult others because it would push off players from playing this game which is a shame really considering this is a really great game to sit down and play.

Keep in mind: "Hdraakon" (With two a's) is actually Death1812. The real Hdrakon is quite a chill guy. Death1812 & co. will never be b& because the mods think his exploits are cute, even though he's a 28-year old kissless virgin in suburban Tennessee.
