Here's an idea: let's make an AW council that consists of let's say 21 AW players (because I like 21) who would be voted by the AW community. This will significantly make decision making much more easier for admins, might as well help start implementing some of the great ideas that are still pending. Admins won't have to worry about reading every thread that discusses a new suggestion, the council will discuss everything and only inform the admins with the good ones.

However much I support this idea, I must say that it is very unlikely to be implemented

(i like 21 as well fantastic film) this is a good idea, a group of player elected's to counter any unjust decisions by mods who are mod elected. 21 is a good number for this as well not too small not to big

But... aren't mods and elites already supposed to do that...?

In that case, if mods already do this function... why having even more people to do the same?

So you want to take the "support vote" from the regular player and give it to 21 players?

Support, the mods would be ideal for this, and indeed some of them do perform this duty, but around half the mods are either completely inactive or just inactive in game so out of touch with the community.

This is what the mods do already just you are asking for it to be elected based on popularity which is an issue, i agree that perhaps it would work if most of us voted but if you add all the community then people will get elected for no reason other than they have 100s of noobs who adore them.

I'll give an example to differentiate between the mod and a council member. Fruit would be a terrible mod, he is a 5/5 troll. Nevertheless he'd make a really good council member because he's liked by many, he understands the game very well and is always willing to help the AW community in a way or another. Mods are supposed to take care of sp farming, players insulting each others, abusing the game features etc... Council members are supposed to make the link between the AW community and the admins. These 2 tasks should be separated because there's absolutely no relation between them. As for elite, this is a joke right?

Wouldn't elite players be the council always.its hard seeing low ranks being one. plus the elites will do want they want to mostly or always. why not allow everyone to have a vote so they can vote on something so they feel like they are doing something important and beneficial then throw that in the trash and not care about it and continue afterwind as usual

No, this is an idea which would only further splinter the AW community. When players want to suggest ideas, they are are already able to do so, and an arbitrarily elected "council" (probably consisting mostly of mapmakers and people elected as jokes) will only hurt things. No support.

Would you guys be interested in making a think tank? You guys would tell me your ideas and opinion, and i would make sure to pass it along moderator group and/or admins. Your task will be to collect opinions on what would be the most important and beneficial impact for the community. Of course this will be a trial run, and who knows, if it become successful, it might gain more legitimacy This is how it would be consisted though: 2 Representatives from mapmakers, 2 Representatives from competitive players 2 Popular vote representative. From the 6, you would elect from yourself a speaker to talk with me, and I will communicate ideas back to this group via the speaker. You guys would be responsible for handling the elections and such, and I expect different players each term.

I see a huge problem.... how is every single player gonna agree on the representants? People from different groups might not like the representatives. Even people from inside those groups might not agree with their representatives. Furthermore, not every player will vote and then they might complain... And what would a competitive player stand for? Cause there's no such thing as a competitive player group/council as far as I know. It's really hard to reach an agreement in this community

Please change the term "competitive" for "normal" player. I really feel that the definition of "competitive" for a big part of the AW community is play europe 3vs3 and be PD. In my opinion, scenario players can also be competitive on their own, but they are still labeled as non competitive by a big group of players. I suggest that, if not "normal" players, then at least players with "experience", or players actives in forum, or another category that can be less confused.

What you feel is not importand unfortunately.Competitive players are the players tha compete in atwars official form of competition, which are cw's.It happens those are 3v3's and in the europe map.If you dont like the term or the reality of the situation that is your problem.
that is a good idea support. So for example someone lets say like me, can apply for both categories?

I disagree. 3v3 take no skill what so ever, clan wars are the real deal. Also, i have yet to see a good custom map (not a scenario) that can match euro+ balance.

this is my last post about this, i wont spam this thread with more off topic posts.Yes i am implying that whoever cant play the official default map of atwar, with the default units, that is used in the only official form of competition atwar has, cannot be categorized as a competitive player.Moreso it has less to do with the map itself, but more about the competition arenas, namely clan wars and duels to a lesser extent. You can choose to not like or accept this fact, but that doesnt make it any less true.
