The reason really, is because of people like you. The game IS better, some members of the community not so - ie there are more people here now who feel like the game owes them something

And why people like me exist in this community? You won't say is destiny / idc , something must be causing our reaction toward this game, and for sure, is not anything external (RL) related. Chances are that it is something internal, from the game.

What do you think that causes us to feel that the game owes us something?

If the game is better, then why there are people like you, who still think the old times were the best?

Mods do their thing, the right reaction is not to remove the maps as some warped protest to their actions - this has nothing to do with equality - thats the point players are not equal to mods, nor should they be.

Anyways that doesn't matter and is irrelevant to this topic - It has been said tik is working on the map so we can assume the OP can get his wish once he is done working on it;

What you just say is that for some strange, unknown reason most of the players who agrees with me are immature. And I just told you to not come up with that type of stuff. This is not destiny. I've never asked for your opinion. I've stated that there are people like you, who thinks that the old times were better. Why? well I don't know, but I want to understand. As for your subjective reply, you are the only one responsible of your though. Why would the rest of people who agrees with your opinion have the same kind-of though?

Let's suppose somehow they agrees with you. Why whole Dalmati got shut down after the scenarios and custom maps, if it was "a good thing" ? Why many of the high ranks hates custom maps? Were high ranks really involved in the creation of such feature? If so many people left because of them, I should assume that, at least one of them, would had stay if there was a little twist on it. All this happened just because negotiation never happened. How about the MapMaker strike? Ivan didn't even knew that mods and MapMakers had negotiated that !!! Just mods and MapMakers, and with mods declining to punish the leavers it didn't go anywhere until the admins intercede. This is what you call "a better" thing? Is this your perception of how things should work?

They don't. And this was proved objectively. There's nothing to talk about. Don't believe me? Look at the hall of fame and find it out. Check at the stats I've made that contains the community's opinion about mods. Check at all those bunch of threads outdated in the Ideas and suggestion forums. Do you still think they are doing a good job? NO THEY ARE NOT. I've even proposed myself to help updating many of those threads. Guess what: Nothing. Either no reply or "yes I will do"... then nothing happens.

But if after all that you still think that mods are doing their job, then you can always use the word "IMO", followed by "your opinion".

Very clearly for you for the third time, my personal view is that the old times were better. This is because I (the person not a group) had more enjoyment from the game than I do now - this is simple to understand, I'm surprised a person who tries so hard to come across as intelligent can not understand what I am saying...

Nobody has left because of the creation of custom maps - this is a bad opinion to hold, the reality is that people probably got bored - Dalmati members stated this as a reason, others you know got real life shit that was more important than investing time in a game that is already in their minds 'completed'

One hundred fucking percent this. Back when Empire SRB was a thing and Vaglneer was spamming world games left and right, the mods were at its most biased point against them - banning them over and over for the smallest thing. They didn't leave.

What made them leave - and what makes all of us eventually leave - is the staleness of the game. With HTML 5 coming we hope it will change, but playing the same things over and over, the same strategies... well that doesn't add a lot of replay value, does it?

It was a good map, why was it removed? Only reason I didn't play it more was due to time constraints.

I was giving it a major edit which required a lot of complicated testing and when I edit, I close the map until it's done. I didn't find the time to finish and couldn't undo what was done. I do apologize, it wasn't malicious. I just haven't found the time to finish it off and I'd have to re test whatever it was that I was doing as all the data is gone. I'll get round to it but I can't make promises. I was busy before and now I'm going to be really busy from now on.

Tik tok wanted absolute power over his property in game meaning maps stats and intellectual property, you guys did the exact opposite and changed service rules without notification giving him 0 rights, do he took it down and left the game.

No, mods going full TTP on maps was before I hid the map. It's probably why they haven't put it up themselves as it's a bit of a mess without unit editing and border edits to ensure proper movement and balance.

But I do agree, mods taking away creator control is terrible policy, but WWII being hidden had nothing to do with it.

Pride doesn't need swallowing, instead time needs finding. I will try.

Agreed to an extent. My biggest issue was waiting over an hour for a game only to have someone leave it within the first few turns. I found the culprits multiple times, I had mapbanned them on their main accounts, screen capped and showed mods who they were and what they did. I showed chat logs of them admitting guilt, showed alt accounts showing they were the same people and mods basically laughed and said they could do nothing.

After revamping maps and hosting them with multiple failures over a 6 hour period due to alt account leavers, I said 'fuck it' and realized Atwar wasn't worth my time. I played less and less and then I didn't have the time at all.

This isn't going to change. It will never change. I don't see how HTML5 will do anything to improve this. I've seen this happen in many communities and forums, if you let the trolls and griefers run riot, the players will simply leave and never look back. All you are left with afterwards is those griefers and it all turns to shit.

It isn't, but there are ways. I don't personally like the Banlist, as it adds a layer of arbitrarity to it, where players and mods have their own different set of arbitrary rules to enforce or prevent bans. I think an automated system would be much, much better.

• Enforce an automatic map ban for 4 hours if the user leaves before turn 4. Reincidence should multiply the number of hours. If a player leaves, then everyone is free to leave the game as well, so as not to ban people for trying to remake.
  
• Make sure wallfucking is not possible if the players were at peace in the previous turn
