Expansion Guide: Spain LB Rush on Rome

Premium & Extra Cities Needed

PART 1: Rushing Spain

PART 2: Why LB is the strongest rush for Spain

France Strategy: Naval Commander

Strategy: Lucky Bastard (LB)
Upgrades Needed (Premium): Naval Transport Capacity, Faster Infantry, Cheaper Infantry, General Range 1, General Movement Range
Optional but recommended: General Range 2, General Ground Main Attack

A Thank You to Zenith for the help!

NOTE:
Remember that it is very easy to be turn-blocked or have your transports killed, so move them as your first priority and go back with enough units to defend your cities from UK, and also remember to capture all the French cities you can reach, while breaking Paris wall, or having your ally (most likely Germany) do it for you.

I've always wondered why the majority of the players uses infantries to wall the capital, instead of militias. In this case your rush could have been more powerful Darth, if you had walled Madrid with Militias as well as spend the 190 cash left on tanks (tanks > inf).

Nonetheless good vid

Thanks for the advice. I spent last 2 units as 2 infs and not 1 tank since same 8 attack, but infs have more defense. The militia thing is good. Thanks

It may be a strong rush, but not in 3v3. It is improperly named.

It's just a spain rush, not the strongest rush. Incorrect name is all.

I meant the strongest rush for Spain...
Besides Turkey never rushes Rome (Unless it's something weird like Spain vs Turkey 1v1, and Turkey is retarded) so your argument is invalid.

Anyways, edited the title of the second video

GC is, not LB. You can get 21 Tanks + 20 Inf into Rome this way.

I believed so before, and apparently many players did but AlexMeza proved me (and probably some others) wrong. Here's some sort of explanation.

The +1 HP barely makes up the -2 attack & -2 defense lost by GC Tanks/Infantries in 1vs1vs1 battles, because when the stack is going to roll a defensive roll (for example), it accounts the sum of all the unit's defense including Nerfed GC Tanks. That makes GC unit's battle stacking bonus worsen than even None, making such GC stack to have worsen-than-None rolls until certain point of the battle (since your units are harder to kill, you should lose the stacking bonus at a lower speed than say None, so at some point they will be equal or better than the same stack with None as strategy).

HP is not included in the stacking bonus calculation, so the HP boost is worthless for that purpose.

LB on the other hand, doesn't have such weakness and also boost the critical (which is independent of the battle stacking bonus, a plus when you're outnumbered).

GC is more consistent than LB, and it could probably win if the rush involved less units. But because the battle is big, there are a lot of rolls and the critical percent of an unit tends to represent the real % of critical rolls that such unit made in the stack (Means, if infantries have 20% critical, it will tend to have 20% of his rolls as critical hit in that stack).

So the question stands: Would an extra HP of GC boost offset the slight bad rolls? According to some calculations, yes.

---BATTLE 1---
None -> 25 infantries, 17 tanks, general
GC -> 21 infantries, 21 tanks, general.
None -> 8 militias
--------------------------------------------------

GC would win nearly 90% of the times, but do note that the average attack/defense is very similar to None.

But the tides turns once the other side becomes 'luckier'. Apparently GC can't handle the increase of 'good rolls' that Lucky Bastard has.

---BATTLE 2---
LB -> 25 infantries, 17 tanks, general
GC -> 21 infantries, 21 tanks, general.
None -> 8 militias
--------------------------------------------------

In comparison with the previous battle, GC average rolls were just a little less, while LB averages were considerably higher than None. LB also won 55% of the times based on 100,000 battle iteration.

Unsure how much theses odds fair against the ones that you expected.

Hope this makes sense.

Something else to think about.
Can (full LB Spain rush) beat (full NC France rush) + (IMP Turk 8 inf 7 tanks)?

France dies anyways probably. If Spain is lucky, and it should be, considering its strategic is LB, it might be able to beat Turk. Odds are against it though.
