Seriously, what the hell? Players & Staff attacking each other? Admins not giving a damn about their police force? Mods ripping on each other? What the hell have we come to? Shape your acts, fellas. This is just disgraceful, and it affects the entire community, not just those listed above as examples. I've done my part in being a douche, and I try to clear it up the best I can, and I'm informing you all of this situation we're in. Avatar's ban

This belongs in the general discussion. I completely and wholeheartedly agree though. I have no idea what happened with avatar, but in all fairness, Lowsky was unmuted. I do think the admins should do a little more to lay out a sort of consistency for the mods, or appoint some sort of head mod, whom we agree is fair. The dispute going on between Tzeentch and Pinheiro is fairly idiotic though, and should be kept to PMs, as the more either responds, the more the overarching flame war escalates. The problem with having those topics is almost every post will just stir up more conflict. When we're in the dark as to exactly what happened, no matter how many viewpoints are presented, they will almost always be twisted to serve whomever is posting. Just quit replying to those topics! They should be deleted, not locked; they only create more hate. For those of you who keep playing victim though, the following is what I told tesla:

I will admit, you would be an amazing Mod, and it's sad to hear you could never take it up, as I have much respect for you and your methods of posting your opinions and remedies. OT: A "Head mod" would be the admins, if they were logged into that department, per se. I would suggest different circles of mods, none being from the same coalition, 3 to a circle with different thought process, but that may not work as well as it seems on paper. Guidelines, set by the Community, Moderators, and Admins together would be a very great thing, though some mods may not accept this, have a burnout, and delete themselves. Either way, guidelines or community-accepted maturity would be grand, in my opinion. Let me also state a reminder, let us not troll and flame each other, but rather re-structure our opinions based upon compelling evidence provided. We do not desire hate, nor should we cast it upon others who think exactly the same.

Mathdino please stop trying so hard to be a moderator, they're people and can just as easily make mistakes as a normal person would. Defending them or Defending the punished is none of your business, to be honest. You guys should just sit back and watch the fun like I have been for a few months because there is nothing you can do to alter it even if you wanted to. and as someone who knows exactly what is going on in all of these cases, I can say this is pretty great

And here come the people thinking I want to be mod. To everyone out there, let me say this: Do not even consider me for mod. I don't have time, and I would hate the responsibility. What I'm trying to do is defuse the incredibly stupid conflicts and flame wars going on. Yes, the mods can make mistakes, and they can be inconsistent. That's why I think there should be some set guidelines for the moderators, or a Head Mod that can overrule the others. Read the first part of my post. The mods should also be a little more open to reversing punishments, but as we can see, Lowsky was unmuted. The thing is that many mods appear to get tired of repeat offenders so quickly that pleads aren't considered. To the players: stop playing victim, stop complaining. Being respectful will get you heard by the mods; b*tching will get you heard by the mod haters who right now can't do anything. To the mods: quick decisions will start flame wars. Hear the players out, tell them exactly why they're being punished. If you explain it all, no one will have any screenshots to throw into a post. And to those of you who keep arguing in public without legitimate purpose, shut up. Please.

I've come to this realization over 3 years of the same dramatic bullshit on here, though I do not prefer watching idiots be idiots, and would rather see them realize their own mistakes, though this is a very rare occurrence. I defend the punished who have been punished in a confusing manner, or deserve a better explanation for why they're punished, i.e. Avatar, Hdrakon, and all the other people I've supported the past 2-3 years as a minority. I've only begun to realize what it truly means to be "different", though I use it to my advantage when speaking to people and mending problems nowadays. For example, to make an authority figure realize his faults, point them out sporadically, and re-state them when he tries to give you a bullshit reason as to why they're present. In Afterwind's case, I find that a high amount of intelligence goes to waste through trolling and procrastinating, and a high amount of social interaction goes into...you guessed it, trolling and procrastinating, as much of the Intershits does. If, for example, one seed were to change this on just this website, gradually over time, you could alter it's community and it's communication process, as is the apparent problem in our retarded situation. If I were to remedy our problems, I would suggest a much higher social interaction between the staff and players, and more child-friendly aspects in the punishment system (What I mean here, is that warnings would be given out in a personality-strike basis. Meaning, you punish a player by their personality type and how they'll react to it, rather than a generalized view, as so often occurs here). If such a system were in place, where a punished player could also be told the exact, definitive reasoning behind his/hers punishment, then I believe there would be less conspiracies, less player/mod hate, and most important, more friendly social interaction. I applaud SRB's latest moves into a more mature environment, for example, while I find the Mod's recent cyber-strikes against formers and players alike to be quite distasteful and sporadically caused. tl;dr, Afterwind needs a more friendly system when punishing itself, and needs more people to accept their own faults and to move on without being an arrogant asshat.

No sorry, you don't know how much Hugosch has done for us. I am probably speaking on behalf of the majority of the public here that Hugosch is probably one of the best mods in AW at this time. He knows how to control problems/situations the right way, and is straightforward with it. He is probably the only Mod that I respect because his posts, his attitude to help and understand underlines my respect.

I have noticed this over time that he is a truly amazing mod, and a great conversation partner, though I plead that Guest14502 would make the better head, simply because he's more blank and less friendly, making the perfect judge; Cold and thick, yet caring about both sides while retaining a bias towards all to ensure he does not give in to lies.

The problem lies with the players, not the mods. I never had any whatsoever problems because I know how to behave. Next time you get a mute shoved up your ass think about what you have done, not about if it's unfair and others did far worse. That's schoolkid thinking.

Moved the topic to general discussion and got rid of the trolling. Now let me try to get things straight: First of all the admins do care a lot about the moderator staff and the community. Thats why they choose every new moderator very carefully. Moderators basically are normal players like everyone else. They just agreed to sacrifice some amount of their free time to maintain AW an enjoyable for gaming. We dont ask for money or gratitude. We do it for the love of this game. In order to do that we set up a few rules that can all be summed up with the statement: Be respectful. That really is all we are asking for. It should be clear that everyone is responsible for his behaviour and got to deal with the consequences if he fails to follow that simple rule. We dont feel pleasrue applying a punishent but it is necessary to maintain order. However, every once in a while there are players who despite of all explanation think they deserve a special treatmeant and claim to be victims of mod despotism and personal hate. Their reasons may vary and all I want say to that is we treat all players the same without exception.

I may excuse mathdino because he's new but not you gardevoir, there have been far more bans and worse times in the past : ) Soon I will be able to say I was playing afterwind (not atwar) and gotten banned by wbl (not dalmati) : ) Also about head mod concerns let's drop them, we see here a wild LDK who has cln hopped more than Ironail supporting hugo who covered his ass when ldk went spying around and made a topic on bt forums and even said officially he doesn't support this but there he does, also on a same offence he covered ldk yet again and lild got a worse ban ; ) Not to say about pinheiro's alt trying to join srb low rank tournament and hugo covering for him ; ) So better keep the corruption spread instead of having one corrupt head, if you need more examples I have : )

You imply this is an all-player issue, when it's not in the slightest. You act as though the Mods are perfect Judges, Jury, and Executioners, while they have their own little hissy-fits and their own problems- and that's just fine, just don't go policing the people with a false criteria on your mind and a bias hotter than a thousand suns like so often happens. You perceive the community as an all-obedient mass when you know damn well it's not, and if you loved this game so dearly to protect it your brothers wouldn't question why I've done the same on my own accord in the past. If you loved this game and it's players so dearly to protect it, yet you don't love it enough to tell the players exactly what they did wrong and explain to the in a friendly manner that they can comprehend, then I have no clue as to why you continue to spout your all-powerful garbage when clearly you're just as chipped as the rest of us in all aspects. A moderator should function as a Protector, not a Hunter, and as a Friend, rather than a foe. If they were friendly and protective of everyone on this game, than we would have a much better community with much better standards. If you frowned upon trolling instead of cheating than the community would be much more polite. The day you and the rest of the Mods accept the fact you are not perfect and you have to accomplish some new feats along with the rest of us as one united community is the day you see these problems end. To summarize, the mods are arrogant at the moment as a collective, not on a singular basis. The community is not obedient and shall not ever be, which is why you, and the other mods, need to become more friendly and protective of everyone so they feel at home and less inclined to hurt one another when they know it would make you upset, rather than angry. Passiveness works on a whole level, while in some more thick-headed player's cases, a more drastic approach could be used, such as muting all of their channels and locking their view of text and talking to them personally until they figure out how to fix what they caused, instead of just muting them for 1.9 trillion years and expecting them to learn something from it. Good day VRIL.

Please don't exaggerate. And it is mostly an all-players issue since some players are very persistent at not following the rules and complaining after.
Wrong again, we explain things in a friendly manner, but not after the player is breaking rules on purpose time after time.
We're not acting like "foes", only particular players whom I've mentioned already keep saying that. Also, when did we say we're perfect? We're just trying to do our job as best as we can so please don't make things up.
Do you realise that we don't just mute a person and don't say anything? We only do that when a person is constantly breaking a particular rule, and is aware of that, and has been warned many, many times. You are saying that we almost randomly mute someone and don't say anything, which is not true. Also, Gardevoir, stop acting like you're the most moral person around here when you clearly aren't and most of the community can't even take you for serious. Good day to you too.
